After months of hard work and preparation, we are pleased to reveal the newly transformed Ellsworth Adhesives Europe website. We wanted to refresh the website to reflect the quality, efficiency and professionalism associated with the Ellsworth brand name. We hope that the changes we have made will create a positive user experience for both existing and potential customers and encourage more visitors to our website.

One of the most notable changes to the website is its brand new look – the appearance of the old site has been revived with a contemporary design that is cleaner and easier to navigate. The new website utilises the latest AJAX technology, which makes quick, incremental updates to the user interface without reloading the entire browser face, creating a better browsing experience for the user.

Content on the website has been updated and re-organised and new pages have been developed including a help section, buyers guide and careers page.  You can also find a host of newly added products from top manufacturers such as Henkel, Dow Corning and Lord. While the website has a great new look and new content, it retains original and popular features including the product comparison function, Ask the Glue Doctor and the request a quote facility.

Ellsworth Adhesives subsidiary company, KitPackers, has developed an innovative new packaging product for customers seeking a simple system for mixing and dispensing small quantities of two component reactive chemical systems, especially adhesives and sealants. The new TwinPak Needle Pouch system, now available to purchase from Ellsworth Adhesives Europe, includes two chambers – separated by a burst-able seal – for the reactive components, a third chamber to aid in mixing, and a dispensing outlet for the attachment of a luer lock tip.

The TwinPak Needle Pouch system has been specially designed for customers requiring a simple, low cost package capable of delivering two component reactive chemicals mixed in highly variable mix ratios. The dispensing tip is an important innovation, since it gives the total system much greater dispensing accuracy. Another significant benefit of the new TwinPak Needle Pouch system is that users will waste much less product and spend far less time cleaning areas where the mixed adhesive or sealant has been misapplied. The needle adapter for the package, available through KitPackers, is a 3/16” ID 10-32 threaded male luer lock adapter, which accepts standard luer lock needles.

For the standard package, the large compartment will have a capacity of approximately 55ml and the small compartment will have a capacity of up to 12ml. The total capacity for a 1:1 mix ratio product would be about 25ml, and the total capacity for a 4:1 mix ratio product would be 60ml. KitPackers can fill the package to order to the customer’s specifications. Other size options are available with a special set-up charge.

The TwinPak Needle Pouch system is just one of many packaging options available from Ellsworth Adhesives. A variety of formats for re-packaging can be selected from dual and single component cartridge components to bi-pac foil sachets. Solutions can be mixed for viscosity or colour modification and fillers, spacer beads and pigments can be added.

Batches of all sizes can be modified – from quarts to totes and batch qualification testing is included before and/or after packaging. The qualified team of lab staff are fully prepared to handle, store, re-package and ship hazardous and temperature sensitive materials and their expert care can extend shelf life and cut down on unnecessary waste.

The Electronics Group of Henkel has just launched Loctite Multicore HF 212 a halogen-free solder paste ideal for high value PCB assemblies, and from today, you can purchase this new product from Ellsworth Adhesives Europe.

Like its other halogen-free formulations, Loctite Multicore HF 212 contains zero deliberately added halogen and is under the limit of detection for chlorine and bromine when subjected to rigorous testing. With consistent print performance and minimal hot slump – even in regions with temperatures that exceed 86°F (30°C) and relative humidity (RH) as high as 80% — Loctite Multicore HF 212 offers exceptional stability and environmental adaptability. The material exhibits extremely low voiding in CSP via-in-pad joints, good coalescence and excellent solderability over a wide range of surface finishes including Ni/Au, Immersion Sn, CuNiZn, Immersion Ag and OSP copper.

“While Loctite Multicore HF 212 was obviously designed for sustainability,” explains Henkel Solder Materials Global Product Manager, Mark Currie, “our approach was much more holistic. Customers simply want a single solder paste that delivers excellent performance. Ellsworth Adhesives expands its product portfolio with the addition of the new Dymax 9100 range.

Now available for purchase from Ellsworth Adhesives Europe, the new Dymax 9100 series of light-curable encapsulants reaches full cure in shadowed areas and prevents rejects with its quick tack-free curing.

Dymax Dual-Cure 9101, 9102, and 9103 are resilient, chip-encapsulant materials designed with a UV/Visible light and secondary ambient moisture-cure system, making them perfect for encapsulation applications where shadowed areas are present. No refrigeration is required for transporting the uncured 9100 materials, therefore no additional associated costs are incurred.

The 9100 series materials cure tack free after UV cure, so boards can be handled sooner with less potential for damage. Once cured, the materials are flexible and expand with heat, reducing stress on board components. The two-day moisture cure – versus the seven days typical with other systems – shortens the time for further handling as well as final testing and assembly.

The three new products in the 9100 Series have varying viscosities of 7,000, 17,000, and 25,000 cP, allowing for performance and dispensing to be optimized. In addition, the new materials are jet dispensable for more accurate placement and more efficient material usage. Ellsworth Adhesives offers the very latest in dispensing technology, including the new TS9000 Series Jet Valve by Techcon.

The addition of the new 9100 series from Dymax further extends Ellsworth Adhesives impressive product range of printed circuit board assembly materials which includes silicones, conformal coatings and encapsulants as well as UV curing resins and other related products.
