Top 10 Uses for UV Curing Adhesives

UV curing adhesives, also known as light curing adhesive, use UV light or other radiation sources to initiate the curing process. A permanent bond then forms without application of heat by a means of free-radical chemistry.

UV curing adhesives are available in a range of viscosities and several different chemical systems, most of which are polymer based. These include acrylics, epoxies, polyurethanes, polyesters and silicones.

UV curing adhesives can bond to a wide range of substrates, even those which are dissimilar, and provide a tough clear bond making them a highly popular choice.

1. GLASS BONDING

With high transparency and excellent stability, UV curing adhesives are well suited to glass bonding since the nature of the adhesive allows it to perform under tough environmental conditions such as humidity and sunlight. This works particularly well for bevel bonding and stained-glass windows.

Light-curable optical digital bonding adhesives are specifically formulated for when durable, invisible bonds are required. They are non-yellowing allowing for increased light transmission and optical clarity on touch and LCD screens such as phones or tablets and offer an easy flow for flat panel lamination.

9. MANUFACTURING OF RESPIRATORY SUPPORT DEVICES

As UV curing adhesives work well under testing environmental conditions, it makes them a perfect fit for the bonding of products such as facemasks and breathing circuits. Meet us at Elektronikmesse (E-18)

We are pleased to confirm our attendance at the Danish Elektronikmesse trade fair. Taking place in the Odense Congress Centre from September 11^th – 13^th, E-18 is Denmark’s biggest trade show for the electronics industry.

New for the 2018 edition of Elektronikmesse (E-18), is the partner event R-18 Robotics Technology. As robots are now becoming part of everyday life, R-18 focuses on the benefits of the technology and companies from varying industries will be showcasing examples how this innovative technology has strengthened their businesses.

The Ellsworth stand at E-18 will display multiple dispensing robots including the Fisnar F4200N.1 Desktop Dispensing Robot and F4303N Advance Vision System, alongside the impressive new F1300N Rotary Dispense Table launched in August 2018.

New Fisnar Rotary Dispense Table for Dispensing Circular Applications

The newly launched Fisnar F1300N rotary dispense table, is now available to order from Ellsworth Adhesives Europe.

Designed especially for tackling circular dispense applications, the Fisnar F1300N rotary table effortlessly dispenses circular patterns or areas that are typically difficult to access.

Its Z-axis tilt enables controlled rotary dispensing at an angle, providing the optimum positioning for the dispense tip. Easily adjusted, the rotary table can dispense we either on a horizontal or vertical wall within a component part or on an outside wall.

The F1300N replaces the existing Fisnar RT404 rotary table model. This newer model has an increased dispensing work area size of 300mm (12”), and is capable of dispensing onto components with a maximum diameter of up to 350mm (14”) and a work load of up to 3kg.

The F1300N is easily programmed via an HMI control panel. Rotation speed and degree of rotation can be altered, while pre and post cycle waiting times can be adjusted to suit application requirements, and achieve the perfect dispensing outcome. Additional features include auto-cycle functionality, operator lockout, 7 channel I/O circuit and external control connection for easy integration into safety enclosures or auxiliary machine systems.

The F1300N dispenses from barrels, cartridge or valves using the relevant Fisnar modular robot mounting bracket, and is compatible with most materials including adhesives, silicones, greases and lubricants.
