A polyurethane encapsulant offers a good balance of durable protection and suppleness, making them the material of choice for applications requiring expansion and abrasion resistance. Polyurethane (PUR) encapsulants can cure a wide variety of gel times and have high performance in low temperatures (around -40C) which allows them to maintain a high degree of elasticity.

They are available in both one and two-component formulas. Polyurethane encapsulants/potting compounds offer good adhesion to most materials along with excellent abrasion resistance.
